EEZ-READ™ and Momentus Golf have launched the new EEZ-READ™ putting aid at the PGA Merchandise Show. Named 2008 PGA Merchandise Show Best New Product designed to build putting confidence and shave strokes off every golfer’s game, the device will be a part of Momentus Golf’s Butch Harmon Signature Series line of products and be endorsed by the renowned instructor. "Using the EEZ-READ is the simplest way to sink more putts," says Harmon.

The EEZ-READ™ (pronounced Easy Read) is a high accuracy “bubble level” attached to a watchmaker’s grade stainless steel disc that’s sturdy enough to provide a quick reading of the green’s contours, yet lightweight enough to carry in your pocket during play. It is intended to help golfers on putts with subtle or confusing breaks and works best on putts within 20 feet of the hole.

Founder of the EEZ-READ, Robin Austin, a marketing innovator for blue chip Fortune 500 companies, had the benefit of his Connecticut Golf Pro teaching him a better way to putt. Out of this improvement in his putting game came the birth of the EEZ-READ. “I was fascinated to learn that the Pros and their caddies take great pains to understand the breaks in the greens during their practice rounds prior to competition play,” said Austin. “They use all sorts of technology. One Pro actually had used a construction level on the greens, and that started me thinking of how to improve upon that concept,” he added.

“Making a good putt is one of the most enjoyable and memorable aspects of golf, and EEZ-READ helps to build those positive memories,” Austin said.

EEZ-READ™ can be used in three simple steps:

Line up your putt and imagine the break line.
Place the EEZ-READ™ on the line halfway between your ball and the hole to determine the overall break.
Then place the EEZ-READ™ on the same line within six inches of the hole to see if that break continues through to the hole.

If the bubble (see right photo) in the EEZ-READ™ is at the 12 o’clock position then it’s an uphill putt; at the six o’clock position it’s a downhill putt; at the nine o’clock position the putt will break from left to right and at three o’clock it will break from right to left. If the bubble rests between two readings then the putt is a combination of the two.

After just a few holes, golfers will learn to rely on EEZ-READ™ to read their putts and build confidence in their putting. Using EEZ-READ™ will also speed up play as players spend less time circling the hole or crouching behind their ball to read their line.
